SC CHCs Receive over $16 million for Capital Development

Funding of more than $728 million was announced by U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in May and will help build, expand and improve community health centers nationwide. The funding was made possible by the Affordable Care Act and is part of a Capital Development Building Capacity Program and Immediate Facility Improvement Program.
The funding will allow SC Community Health Centers to build new facilities, renovate existing facilities, expand health care access to additional patients, and hire additional staff. 

Capital Development- Immediate Facility Improvement Program:

  • Eau Claire Cooperative Health Center, Inc., Columbia, SC- $187,781
  • Carolina Health Centers, Inc., Greenwood, SC- $466,906
  • St. James- Santee Family Health Center, Inc, McClellanville, SC- $448,974
  • Beaufort-Jasper Comprehensive Health Services, Inc., Ridgeland, SC- $500,000

Capital Development- Building Capacity Program:

  • Rural Health Services, Inc., Clearwater, SC- $5,000,000
