This March, the state's health center advocates gathered in Washington, DC for the NACHC Policy and Issues Forum. The South Carolina group featured around 70 people who received vital knowledge through the Forum's diverse educational sessions. The focal point of this annual event is Hill Day, which this year was on March 15. We visited all nine of our current Congressional Delegation members during Hill Day. Sen. Lindsey Graham and Reps. James Clyburn, Ralph Norman and Joe Wilson spoke directly to our groups. All of our Congressional offices indicated their support for the mission of CHCs. We'd like thank Reps. James Clyburn, Joe Wilson and Tom Rice for signing on to the Dear Colleague Letter, which signals their public support for our cause. Another notable moment that day came when Sue Veer, CEO of Carolina Health Centers, testified before the Senate Health, Labor, Education and Pensions (HELP) Committee on how CHCs effectively utilize the 340B Drug Pricing Program.

The SCPHCA would like to thank everyone who took time away from their families and health centers to attend NACHC P&I. Without this critical advocacy, we wouldn't have the political and financial support necessary to serve more than 374,000 patients. Our presence during NACHC P&I shores up support and educates our delegation about the great work South Carolina's health centers perform in their communities. Advocacy is a year round endeavor. Keep it going by contacting your Senators and Congressmen now to express your support for health centers here.
