Community Development

Community development efforts of the South Carolina Primary Health Care Association (SCPHCA) focus on improving access to health care in South Carolina. The SCPHCA works with community groups statewide to achieve this goal. Every community is different. What works in one town might not work elsewhere. For example, one community may need a new health center or to add another location. While another community 50 miles away might just require a parish nurse program or health ministry. Whatever solution is worked out, the SCPHCA helps facilitate this process.

The SCPHCA staff also provides technical assistance to existing or expanding health centers in our state. This may include strategic planning, board development or staff development.
